Fantastic Word Clouds
You have put countless hours into creating a really good cosplay show? Your show is about film characters, mangas, comics or is from your own universe? You would like to present your show to the whole world? Then please be welcome to the 2nd Universal Cosplay Awards and present your work on our big stage. The word "cosplay", by the way, is derived from the words "costume" and "play". Many cosplay contests are sometimes reminiscent of a vaudeville act because people sing, dance and perform. For the "Universal Cosplay Awards", however, it doesn't matter if your cosplay has been created from scratch or whether it's a licensed product. What is important is your performance and the overall impression! How can you participate? What can you win? When will it begin? Lots of questions, and here are the answers:
Rules, Facts and Trivia:
• The 2nd Universal Cosplay Awards (UCA) will kick off on the stage on Saturday, Oct 02, 2010 at 2:00 PM.
• The contest will focus not only on the various costumes but also on the presentation of the show and the cosplayers' performance.
• Regardless of whether accompanied by singing, dancing, pantomime, action, comedy, playback or choreography, anything goes for as long as the performance is neither vulgar nor obscene or otherwise morally questionable.
• Only performers/cosplayers with costumes or garments from different worlds, as well as self-made designs, from the range of themes on the UCA application form may participate.
• Every costume must be attributable to a theme in the UCA application form and can only participate once.
• Depending on the size of the group, the performance may be up to 4 minutes and can be accompanied by music and/or video.
• Setting up props may only start after receiving the green light and must not take longer than one minute.
• Weapons may be used if they comply with the weapons rules.
• Children under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult as guardian (legal guardian or a legal adult authorized by the legal guardian)
• We will get back to you ahead of time prior to the FANTASYDAYS® to inform you about the schedule and procedures.
• Please confirm your participation at the UCA Office on the day of the event before 10:00 AM. Last applications for possible remaining openings can also be handed in onsite at the UCA Office until 10:00 AM. The organizational and leadership team of the UCA reserves the right to disallow contestants to perform on stage if they do not show up on time.
Voting and judging details:
To avoid making the voting too complex for the audience and the jury (with includes stars and VIPs), we will use the "HCB" system, or since 2007 known as the "Hopkins" system (named after its inventor), which considers all aspects of a performance.
Participating will be worth your while!
Just like the Olympic Games, we will not only hand out grand prizes but also certificates and UCA trophies. The winner will be given the opportunity to perform their own, complete show on stage at next year's event. (Images and prices will follow shortly) If you have any more questions, just send us an e-mail uca@fantasydays.de or post in our forum.
Weapons rules / German weapons law (WaffG)
We trust you understand that we did not make these rules to disgruntle cosplay fans and visitors in costume, but that these are mandatory as per German law. Please click here: FD_WeaponsRules.
We are looking forward to lots of applications coming in!
